Watch VideoBehind the white coat, there is a heart that beats for your health. A doctor does more than provide treatment; they offer hope, trust and a renewed promise of life. Every year on 1 July, India celebrates National Doctors’ Day to recognise the dedication of doctors who serve patients through long nights, difficult decisions and moments that change lives.
National Doctors’ Day is celebrated in memory of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, one of India’s most respected physicians, who was born and passed away on 1 July. Beyond medicine, he served as Chief Minister of West Bengal and was awarded the Bharat Ratna. His life remains a symbol of service, compassion and dedication to public health.
Medicine is not only about prescriptions and procedures. It is about:
In chest medicine and critical care, we see every day how timely care, teamwork and compassion can help patients breathe easier, leave the ICU and return to their families.
On this day, we salute every doctor, and every nurse, technician and healthcare worker who stands beside them, for their tireless dedication and sacrifice. Your knowledge saves lives, but your compassion keeps hope alive.
And to our patients: thank you for your trust. It is the greatest privilege of our profession.
“आपका श्वास, हमारी ज़िम्मेदारी।” (Your breath, our responsibility.)
